Baha’u’llah experienced profound connection with God while he was imprisoned in the Siyah-Chal stench-filled dungeon in Tehran. He received this Revelation while in 1852. It is written in Persian, and is one of the first Revelations in which He begins to present Himself as the One people have waited for to bring a fresh wellspring of God's love to humanity.
At my beginner level of being a Baha’i, the themes I see addressed are:
When we turn towards God and speak His verses, we put ourselves in position to receive the mysteries of the faith from the Divine.
God’s presence is discernable in a pleasant breeze if we are mindful.
When we feel the Oneness of unity, our hearts become more purified, and God responds with bestowals of Divine truth.
Joy is where we find God’s presence, and once you have tasted the wine of ecstasy, you won’t crave that other kind.
Judgement Day and heaven’s call seem to be a metaphor for heaven and hell both existing simultaneously.
Baha’u’llah tells us He is the One everybody has been waiting for and the New Era is upon us.
Our heart has a mind of its own and is where the soul lives.
This is Baha’u’llah’s declaration that He is the mouth of God.
The call of the Divine, if we are able to perceive it, is like a soaking rain after a long drought.
Ama is the hidden and unknowable essence of God, so much more than a diaphenous cloud. It is the ultimate reality flowing through Baha’u’llah.
